Food, Agriculture, Fisheries and Livestock Minister Mohammad Aminur Rashid have said that he wants to carry out his duties with honesty, sincerity, and strong commitment. He made these remarks on Wednesday (18 March) while speaking as the chief guest at an iftar gathering held at a community center in Cumilla city.
Seeks Support from Journalists
Food Minister said:
“আমরা আমাদের দায়িত্ব পালনে শতভাগ সিরিয়াস থাকতে চাই। এক্ষেত্রে আমি সাংবাদিকদের সহযোগিতা চাই।”
Translation: We want to be 100% serious in fulfilling our duties. In this regard, I seek cooperation from journalists.
Commitment to Honesty and Integrity
He further added:
“আমি আমার ব্যাপারে স্পষ্ট বলতে চাই—যেই কয়েকদিন আল্লাহ, জনগণ ও মাননীয় প্রধানমন্ত্রী আমাকে এ দায়িত্বে রাখে আমি আন্তরিকতার সঙ্গে, সততার সঙ্গে, ঈমানদারির সঙ্গে এ দায়িত্ব পালন করতে চাই।”
Translation: I want to be clear—however long Allah, the people, and the Honorable Prime Minister keep me in this role, I want to perform my duties with sincerity, honesty, and integrity.

Vision for a Better Country
Food Minister also spoke about the country’s potential:
“এই দেশটা সুন্দর। এটার মতো ভালো দেশ পৃথিবীতে আর নেই। এখন প্রয়োজন এটাকে সুন্দরভাবে পরিচালনা করা।”
Translation: This country is beautiful. There is no country like it in the world. What we need now is to run it properly.
He added:
“আমি দোয়া ও পরামর্শ চাই আপনাদের কাছে। আপনাদের লেখনীর মাধ্যমে যেন আমরা সুন্দরভাবে আগামী দিনে সত্যিকার অর্থে একটা উন্নত দেশে রূপান্তর করতে পারি।”
Translation: I seek your prayers and advice. Through your writing, we hope to transform the country into a truly developed nation.
City Administrator Highlights Public Expectations
At the same event, newly appointed Cumilla City Corporation administrator Yusuf Molla Tipu said:
“আমি সিটি প্রশাসক নিযুক্ত হওয়ার পর কুমিল্লার মানুষ আমার কাছে বেশি প্রত্যাশা করছে—এটা তাদের অধিকার।”
Translation: After being appointed as city administrator, people of Cumilla have high expectations from me—this is their right.
He further added:
“আমি সাংবাদিকদের কাছে অনুরোধ করছি, কুমিল্লার যে সমস্যাগুলো আছে আমরা সবাই এ বিষয়ে অবগত আছি। একটি একটি সমস্যা চিহ্নিত করে তা সমাধান করতে চাই।”
Translation: I request journalists that we are aware of the problems in Cumilla. We want to identify and solve them one by one.
