ATM Azharul Welcomes Verdict as ‘Divine Justice’
ATM Azharul Islam, Jamaat-e-Islami–nominated candidate for Rangpur–2 (Badarganj–Taraganj), said that the death sentence of Sheikh Hasina is a reflection of Allah’s justice. He claimed that there was a time when a conspiracy was made to hang him without any crime, and today’s verdict shows the triumph of true justice. He said,
“আমাকে ফাঁসাতে চেয়েছিল, আজ তারই ফাঁসি, জনগণের দোয়া ন্যায় প্রতিষ্ঠা করেছে।”
Translation: “They wanted to hang me once, but today it is her execution. The prayers of the people have established justice.”
Addressing a Roadside Gathering in Taraganj
ATM Azharul made these remarks on Monday (17 November) night while speaking as the chief guest at a roadside meeting in Balabari area of Ikorchali Union under Taraganj Upazila. The event saw the presence of local leaders, supporters, and residents from various professions.
At the beginning of his speech, he thanked Allah and said:
“দেশের মানুষ যখন ন্যায় ও নীতির পক্ষে দাঁড়ায়, তখন কোনো শক্তিই সেই অগ্রযাত্রাকে থামাতে পারে না।”
Translation: “When the people of the country stand for justice and principles, no power can stop that progress.”
