No More Tolerance for Extortionists, Oppressors, or Fascists: Sadik Kayem

Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) Vice President Abu Sadik Kayem said that extortionists, oppressors, and fascists will no longer be tolerated—whether in the hilly region of Khagrachhari or in Dhaka.

Sadik Kayem made the remarks on Wednesday (27 November) afternoon while speaking at a reception organized in his honor at Arambagh Khagrachhari Baitush Sharaf Ideal Jabbariya Fazil (Degree) Madrasa, where he once studied. he said,

“আর কোনো চাঁদাবাজ, জুলুমবাজ, ফ্যাসিস্টকে ছাড় দেওয়া হবে না।”

Translation: “No extortionist, oppressor, or fascist will be spared.”

Sadik Kayem said that the future leadership of Bangladesh will rise from the hills. He urged everyone to stay alert against those who promote extortion, chaos, and fascism in the hill region.

Sadiq Kayem also added that no fascist will find shelter on the soil of Bangladesh.

Sadik Kayem urged people to stay united and raise their voices against any form of injustice. He stated,

“যে কোনো অন্যায়ে চুপ করে না থেকে নিজেদের অবস্থান থেকে প্রতিবাদ গড়ে তুলতে হবে।”

Translation: “Everyone must protest against any wrongdoing instead of staying silent.”

He recalled his memories of studying at the madrasa and said that leadership for the country will continue to grow from this institution. He mentioned that there had once been conspiracies against the madrasa by fascist groups, and he encouraged students to become more responsible in their pursuit of education.

Leaders, Teachers, and Local Figures Attend the Event

The event was presided over by madrasa president Liaquat Ali Chowdhury. Among others present were:

  • Ubaidur Rahman Hasib, AGS of Amar Ekushey Hall Students’ Union
  • Hasan Al Banna, VP of Bijoy Ekattor Hall Students’ Union
  • Maulana Abu Othman, Principal of Khagrachhari Baitush Sharaf Ideal Jabbariya Fazil (Degree) Madrasa
  • Professor Syed Abdul Momen, Khagrachhari District Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami

Local organizations also greeted Kayem with flowers and crests during the ceremony.

Later, Sadik Kayem traveled in a motorcycle convoy through Chattogram, Manikchhari, Jaliyapara, Guimara, and Matiranga, where he delivered short speeches and interacted with supporters.
