Government Considering Emergency Measures
Due to rising pressure on the energy sector, the government is planning a set of austerity measures to reduce fuel consumption and ease economic stress. Officials from the Cabinet Division and the Prime Minister’s Office have asked all government agencies to prepare their own energy-saving proposals. These proposals will be presented in the upcoming cabinet meeting for final decision.
Possible Return of Online Classes and Remote Work
Among the discussed measures are:
- Increasing weekly holidays by one extra day
- Allowing government officials to work from home two days a week
- Adjusting office hours to reduce electricity usage
- Introducing partial online classes in schools and universities
These steps were previously used during the COVID-19 pandemic and are now being reconsidered to Fuel Crisis.

Iran-Israel Tension Pushing Bangladesh Toward Short-Term Plan
The government is currently preparing a three-month short-term strategy due to rising tension between Iran and Israel, which is affecting global Fuel Crisis and prices. Bangladesh is preparing early austerity steps to manage a possible fuel crisis. While no decision has been finalized yet, weekly holidays, remote work, and online education are among the strongest options being considered to reduce energy consumption and economic pressure.
