Background of the Contempt Case

Earlier on November 26, a contempt of court allegation was filed against Fazlur Rahman.
The charge came after he made negative comments about the tribunal during a TV talk show.

Because of these remarks, on November 30, the tribunal ordered the BNP leader to appear in person on December 8 and explain his statements.

What He Said in the Talk Show

According to the complaint, Fazlur Rahman said the following during the show:

Translation: “Considering how this court was formed, trials cannot take place here. Those who are delivering judgments here, I believe there is something going on inside them.”
