You are a man of wisdom,” the Grand Imam remarked, commending Professor Yunus’s prudent approach. In response, Professor Yunus expressed his gratitude for the invitation and invited the Grand Imam to visit Bangladesh to witness firsthand the positive changes brought about by the student-led uprising. During their discussion, Professor Yunus shared insights into the mass movement and the reforms undertaken by Bangladesh’s interim government. The Grand Imam expressed hope that these reforms would continue, and he praised Professor Yunus’s impactful leadership, highlighting his social contributions, the pioneering role of Grameen Bank in microfinance, and his lifelong dedication to combating poverty. As a token of appreciation, Professor Yunus gifted the Grand Imam a copy of The Art of Triumph, an art book celebrating the revolution’s spirit through murals and graffiti. The Grand Imam, in turn, acknowledged the talent of Bangladeshi students, including those studying at Al-Azhar University, and emphasized the enduring friendship between Bangladesh and Al-Azhar.
