Remittance Inflow Reaches USD 63.23 Crore in First Six Days of December

Bangladesh received USD 63 crore 23 lakh 80 thousand in remittances during the first six days of December. In Bangladeshi Currency, this amounts to Tk 7,713 crore 81 Lakh 60 thousand, calculated at an exchange rate of Tk 122 per dollar.

The information was disclosed in the latest report which is published by Bangladesh Bank on Sunday (7 December). Due to the central bank report, private commercial banks collected USD 46 crore 3o lakh 1o thousand in remittances during the first ix days of December.

The reported highlighted that the remittance inflow by bank type:

  • Private banks: USD 46 crore 30 lakh 10 thousand
  • State-owned banks: USD 8 crore 58 lakh 80 thousand
  • Specialized banks: USD 8 crore 17 lakh
  • Foreign bank branches: USD 17 lakh 90 thousand

Earlier, in November, the expatriates sent USD 288 crore 95 lakh 20 thousand, making the highest monthly remittance of the current fiscus year. This translates to an average of USD 9 crore 63 lakh per day.
