Metro rail services will remain normal: DMTCL announces relief after overcoming fears

Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) officials and employees announced an indefinite all-out strike from Friday (December 12) demanding formulation and publication of separate job rules. There was concern about metro rail services from today (December 12). There was a fear among passengers that normal services will be disrupted.

However, the fear has finally been dispelled and the DMTCL, the metro rail operator, has given a message of relief. On Thursday (December 11) night, a post on the company’s official Facebook page said that from Friday, the metro rail will run on schedule and passenger services will continue as before.

The Facebook post said,

For the information of the respected passengers of the Metrorail, it is being informed that the Metrorail will operate as per the scheduled schedule.

It is worth noting that on Wednesday, regular officers and employees of DMTCL announced a general strike from today through a notification, which created public concern about the metro rail service.
