Emotional Post About Hadi Goes Viral
An emotional social media post by Dr Mahmudah Mitu, joint chief organiser of the National Citizen Party (NCP), has drawn wide attention. She wrote about Sharif Osman Hadi, a potential independent candidate from Dhaka-8 and spokesperson of Inqilab Mancha.
Dr Mahmudah Mitu shared the post on Saturday (13 December) from her verified social media account, expressing deep personal grief and shock.
Hadi on Assisted Ventilation
In her post, Dr Mahmudah Mitu explained Hadi’s medical condition, saying he is still on assisted ventilation. She wrote,
“এখন পর্যন্ত হাদি এসিস্টেট ভেন্টিলেশনে, তার মানে সে নিজে থেকে শ্বাস নিচ্ছে ব্যাপারটা এমন না। সে নিজে শ্বাস নেওয়ার চেষ্টা করছে আর মেশিন সেই শ্বাসকে সাপোর্ট দিচ্ছে।”
Translation: “Hadi is still on assisted ventilation. This does not mean he is breathing on his own; he is trying to breathe, and the machine is supporting that effort.”
Race Against Time to Save His Life
Dr Mahmudah Mitu described rushing from home to the hospital and witnessing the frightening moments when Hadi suffered cardiac arrest and CPR failed to restore a regular pulse. She mentioned that multiple specialist teams, including neurology, ENT, and thoracic units, were involved in emergency surgery. She wrote,
“হাদির স্কালের একসাইডের হাড় খুলে ডিকম্প্রেশন করার সাথে সাথেই স্পন্টেনিয়াস স্বাস নেয়া প্রথমে শুরু করে।”
Translation: “As soon as decompression was done by opening part of Hadi’s skull, he began taking spontaneous breaths.”

‘VIP Protocol Before Becoming an MP?’
Dr Mahmudah Mitu emotionally described the moment when Hadi was transferred under special protocol to Evercare Hospital, while roads were cleared to avoid traffic. Dr Mahmudah Mitu wrote,
“কিরে ভাই এমপি হওয়ার আগেই ভিআইপি প্রোটকল? এইভাবে সবাইকে হারিয়ে দিলি?”
Translation: “Hey brother, VIP protocol even before becoming an MP? Is this how you leave everyone behind?”
She added that people willingly waited in traffic for hours with smiles, unlike the anger usually seen when roads are cleared for VIPs.
She recalled emotional memories, including schoolgirls saying they would vote for Hadi when they grow up, and expressed regret over small moments—like not buying him food—that now feel painfully important.
