BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Thursday said mob terrorism has divided the entire nation for more than a year. He made the remarks in his own verified Facebook post on Friday.
Mirza Fakhrul said,
“হাদি নির্বাচনে প্রার্থী ছিলো। জনগণের দরজায় গিয়েছিল। নির্বাচন হবে। বাংলাদেশে একটি গণতান্ত্রিক জনগণের সরকার প্রতিষ্ঠিত হবে ইনশাআল্লাহ। হাদির আততায়ীর বিচার এবং প্রতিটি মব সন্ত্রাসের বিচার করতে হবে।”
Translation : “Hadi was a candidate in the election. It went to people’s doors. There will be an election. A democratic people’s government will be established in Bangladesh, Insha Allah. Hadi’s killer must be prosecuted and every mob terrorism must be prosecuted.”
Calling on the government, the BNP secretary general said,
“স্বৈরাচারী আওয়ামী সরকারের পতনের পরে সরকারের প্রথম ও প্রধান দায়িত্ব জাতিকে ঐক্যবদ্ধ করে গণতান্ত্রিক, স্থিতিশীল এবং অন্তর্ভুক্তিমূলক সমাজ গঠন করা। আমরা সব পক্ষকে দায়িত্বশীলতার সঙ্গে ঐক্যবদ্ধ হয়ে কাজ করতে আহ্বান জানাচ্ছি। অনতিবিলম্বে সরকারকে ব্যবস্থা নিতে হবে।”
Translation : “After the fall of the autocratic Awami League government, the first and foremost responsibility of the government is to build a democratic, stable and inclusive society by uniting the nation.” We call on all parties to work together responsibly. The government must take immediate action.”
Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said,
“বাংলাদেশ স্বাধীন সার্বভৌম দেশ। এদেশের প্রতিটি নাগরিকের জানমালের দায়িত্ব বর্তমান সরকারের। শহীদ হাদির মৃত্যুতে শোকার্ত জাতি যখন সৃষ্টিকর্তার কাছে দোয়া করছে, হাদির আত্মার মাগফেরাতের জন্য, তখন ডেইলি স্টার, প্রথম আলোসহ বিভিন্ন পত্রিকা, প্রতিষ্ঠান, বরেণ্য সাংবাদিক নুরুল কবিরসহ আরও অনেকের ওপর হীন হামলা সংঘটিত হলো।”
Translation: “Bangladesh is an independent sovereign country. The life and property of every citizen of this country is the responsibility of the present government. At a time when the mourning nation is praying to God for the salvation of Hadi’s soul, the Daily Star, Prothom Alo, various newspapers, institutions, eminent journalists Nurul Kabir and many others were attacked.”
The BNP leader also said,
“দেশের সঙ্কটময় মুহূর্তকে কাজে লাগানোর জন্য যারা অপেক্ষা করে, এরা এই দেশের শত্রু। তারা অপেক্ষা করে সংকটের। আজ এই দুঃখভারাক্রান্ত মুহূর্তকে এরা ধ্বংসাত্মক কাজে রূপান্তর করলো। আমি এই সন্ত্রাসের তীব্র প্রতিবাদ জানাচ্ছি।”
Translation :”Those who wait to exploit the country’s critical moment are the enemies of this country. They are waiting for the crisis. Today, they have converted this moment of sorrow into a destructive one. I strongly condemn this terrorism.”
However, soon after the publication of the report, it was found that Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir’s post was not found.
