An attack and setting fire occurred at the office of Udichi Cultural Organisation, opposite the National Press Club in the capital.
Around 7:30 pm on Friday, fire broke out at the office, which firefighters are trying to extinguish.
Jamshed Anwar Tapon, General Secretary of a faction of Udichi Cultural Organisation, told bdnews24.com,
“আধা ঘন্টা আগে উদীচী কার্যালয়ে হামলা হয়েছে। আমি সেখানে যাচ্ছি। এখন পথে আছি। পরে বিস্তারিত জানাব।”
Translation : “An attack took place at the Udichi office half an hour ago. I am going there. I am on the way now. I will provide details later.”

Anwarul Islam, Media Officer of the Fire Service, said that upon receiving news of a fire at the Udichi office on Topkhana Road, three units were first sent there. Later, an additional unit joined them.
Arif Noor, Organisational Secretary of a faction of the organisation, is now at the ground floor of the office. He told bdnews24.com,
“আমাদের কার্যালয়ে এখন আগুন জ্বলছে। আমাদের কক্ষটি একটু ভেতরের দিকে। সেই কক্ষেও আগুন জ্বলতে দেখা যাচ্ছে। আমরা বাইরে আছি। আগুন নেভানোর চেষ্টা চলছে।”
Translation : “The fire is burning in our office now. Our room is a bit inside. The fire can also be seen in that room. We are outside. Efforts are underway to extinguish the fire.”
