Tawsiful Islam, Office Secretary of the Dhaka University Journalists’ Association, has named his son after Shahid Sharif Osman Hadi, the spokesperson for Inqilab Mancha and a key leader of the ’24 Mass Uprising. On Saturday (December 20), Tawsif shared his son’s name in a post on the social media platform Facebook. In the post, Tawsif included a screenshot of a conversation with Hadi along with a picture of his son.
When asked about this, Tawsif told The Daily Campus,
Translation : “I had a good relationship with Osman Hadi brother. On December 5, I asked Hadi Brother to suggest a good name for my child. Perhaps due to being busy, Brother could not suggest any name to me at that time.”

Tawsif said,
Translation : “The name of Hadi Brother will remain an inspiration for the next generation. He always wanted to be a martyr for the country. Out of respect and love for him, I have named my child Hadi.”
He further added,
Translation : “Initially, I had named my son Tashriful Mahtim Ayan. Changing that name, I have now named my son Mahtim Osman Hadi.”
On the afternoon of December 12, miscreants shot Sharif Osman Bin Hadi in the head on Box Culvert Road in Purana Paltan, Dhaka. He was the convener of Inqilab Mancha and a potential independent candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency.
The critically injured Osman Hadi was treated first at Dhaka Medical College Hospital and later at Evercare Hospital. As his condition deteriorated, he was taken to Singapore by air ambulance on December 15 for advanced treatment. He passed away there last Thursday while undergoing treatment.
