Deadly Explosion Under Mogbazar Flyover
A young man was killed after a cocktail bomb exploded in the Mogbazar area of Dhaka. The incident took place when an explosive was thrown from a flyover, hitting the victim who was standing below.
The deceased has been identified as Siam (19).
When and Where the Incident Happened
The incident occurred on Wednesday (24 December) at around 7:45 pm. The location was near the Assemblies of God (AG) Church Road in New Eskaton, under the jurisdiction of Hatirjheel Police Station.

Police Confirmation
The incident was confirmed by Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Ramna Zone of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, Md. Masud Alam.
Victim’s Background
Siam worked at a decorator shop in the area.
His father’s name is Ali Akbar.
Their home village is in Khulna, and Siam lived with his family in 2000 Goli area of Eskaton.
What Witnesses Saw
According to eyewitnesses, Siam was drinking tea at a roadside stall at the time of the incident. Suddenly, a cocktail was thrown from the flyover.
The explosive fell on his head and detonated, causing his death on the spot.
After receiving the news of Siam’s death, his father and uncle rushed to the scene. They broke down in tears upon seeing the tragic situation.
Following the incident, police and army personnel arrived at the scene. The police bomb disposal unit is carrying out searches in and around the area to ensure security and look for additional explosives.
