Dr. Zara began her signature collection drive by setting up booths in Khilgaon and Basabo on Sunday.
By Monday afternoon, officials confirmed that her party had crossed the required number of signatures in just one day. She then submitted the collected signatures to the Dhaka Divisional Commissioner and the Returning Officer in Segunbagicha.
Earlier, Tasneem Zara had resigned from the National Citizens Party (NCP). With the successful signature collection, she has now crossed the first hurdle to contest the elections.
In the next step, the Election Commission verifies the submitted signatures. Once verified, Dr. Zara will be able to officially submit his nomination papers and move closer to contesting the Dhaka-9 constituency.
This success reflects public support and significantly boosts his campaign as the parliamentary elections approach.
