The first Bangladeshi woman to score a first-class century in the historic women’s BCL is Nigar Sultana Joty.

Nigar Sultana Joty made history on the last day of Central Zone’s three-day Women’s Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) match versus North Zone by being the first Bangladeshi woman to achieve a first-class century. The historic innings took place in Rajshahi’s Shaheed Kamaruzzaman Stadium.
After starting the day at 85 not out, Nigar easily scored the coveted century, concluding the day undefeated at 153 runs off 253 balls. Her outstanding work enabled Central Zone to declare their opening innings at 387-8, giving them a decisive 147-run advantage over North Zone, who had previously recorded 240-9 declared.

By the time of this report, North Zone had responded with 46 runs without loss in their second innings. Openers Fargana Haque (29 not out) and Ishma Tanjim (12 not out) provided a steady start, facing 16 overs.
In a concurrent fixture at the same venue, East Zone were battling at 130-5 in their second innings, trailing South Zone by 24 runs.
A three-day format is being introduced for the first time in Bangladeshi women’s cricket history with this edition of the Women’s BCL, which also serves as a venue for such record-breaking performances.
