Tamzid Rahman: Bangladesh’s Teen Innovator Behind BloodLink, Featured on Project Nightfall

Tamzid Rahman, a 16-year-old from Bangladesh, has created BloodLink, the country’s first peer-to-peer blood donation app. Featured on the global platform “Project Nightfall,” the app has already saved over 500 children’s lives, connected 950 donors, and handled more than 3,500 emergency requests, addressing Bangladesh’s urgent blood donation needs.

Inspired by his cousin Sabbir’s fight with thalassemia, Tamzid developed the app to ensure no child dies due to a lack of blood. Alongside this, he has raised awareness through educational content, a comic book, and secured $30,000 in funding to expand his initiative. With plans to reach more regions in Bangladesh and collaborate with hospitals and healthcare organizations, Tamzid is working hard to create a lasting impact on the country’s blood donation infrastructure.

His vision is to build a sustainable system where blood donors are easily accessible, and people in need of blood can find help quickly. Through partnerships and further outreach, he aims to reduce child deaths caused by blood shortages to zero.

Agon Hare, the creator of “Project Nightfall,” praised Tamzid’s efforts as proof that young people can drive meaningful change and called for more support for voluntary blood donation.
