Dr. Bukhari, Former Imam of the Kaaba to Visit Bangladesh for the First Time

For the first time, Dr. Sheikh Hasan Bin Abdul Hamid Bukhari, a former imam of the Holy Kaaba, senior muhaddith, Dean of Umm Al-Qura
University in Makkah, and a member of Saudi Arabia’s Supreme Council of Scholars, is visiting Bangladesh. He is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka on Thursday, January 16. Sheikh Saad Saifullah Madani, Secretary-General of the International Quran Recitation Organization of Bangladesh, confirmed this.
Friday prayers at the 10th International Conference of Darul Uloom Muhiyus Sunnah Madrasa in Raghunathpur, Feni, will be led by Dr. Bukhari on his first day, January 17. He will then take a helicopter back to Dhaka to attend the international conference at the National Mosque, Baitul Mukarram, where he will also lead the Maghrib prayers.

He is said to be on a three-day tour in Bangladesh at the request of the International Quran Recitation Organization of Bangladesh and Sheikh Saad Saifullah Madani. Baitul Mukarram National Mosque’s eastern courtyard will host an international conference on January 17. Leading qaris and renowned Islamic scholars from Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, England, India, and Pakistan will take part. There will also be high-profile people present, such as government advisers, well-known politicians, businesspeople, and ambassadors and diplomats from other countries.

Dr. Sheikh Hasan Bin Abdul Hamid Bukhari is a distinguished Islamic scholar who has served as both an imam and khateeb of the Holy Kaaba. He currently holds the position of Dean at Umm Al-Qura University in Makkah and is a member of Saudi Arabia’s Supreme Council of Scholars. Renowned for his expertise in hadith and Islamic jurisprudence, he is widely respected for his lectures and writings on Islamic topics on the international stage.
From 2000 until 2003, he began his career as an instructor at Masjid Al-Haram’s internal academy. He taught at Umm Al-Qura University’s Arabic Language Institute until 2004. Later, from 2008 until 2015, he served as a professor at the same university.
Dr. Bukhari is also a teacher and supervisor at the Quran memorization circles in Makkah. Additionally, he serves as a part-time advisor to the Haramain Administration Board. In 2015, under the guidance of King Salman Bin Abdulaziz, he was appointed as a guest imam at the Holy Mosque in Makkah.
