Mohammad Imran Uddin, Mohiuddin Ahmed, and Abtahi Abrar won $1,500 as the first prize in the international competition “Launch a Different World 2024”. Their team name was Team Repurpose. They are students of BRAC University. They joined with Wei Jou Huang from National Taiwan University and Maria Vlaykova from the American University in Bulgaria.
They are focused on transforming recycled plastic into affordable 3D printing materials and other sustainable products. Their aim is reduce plastic waste, increasing sustainability and impacting communities positively.
They plan to take a important first step by testing their 3D printing materials in Bangladesh. These materials will be supplied to businesses involved in manufacturing architectural structures or customized gifts. This is being developed in collaboration with experts and organizations, including Eindhoven University of Technology, Recycling Fabrik, and Tangible Creative as other projects.
