Soumik Hasan Shranto, a Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) student at Brac University, has been named the Best Entrepreneur at the 9th National Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA), organized by EO Bangladesh. His project, DuboTech, which focuses on underwater technology, earned him Tk 5 Lakh in prize money and the opportunity to represent Bangladesh on an international level.
Soumik is the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of DuboTech Digital Limited, a company founded by Brac University alumni. DuboTech has gained national attention for its innovative use of robotics and underwater technology to solve local problems. The company was also featured on “Shark Tank Bangladesh”, showcasing its potential as a leader in deep-tech innovation.
As the winner, Soumik will compete in the GSEA Global quarter-finals on March 10, 2025, in Nagpur, India, alongside participants from India, Sri Lanka, and Nepal.
The event was a celebration of student entrepreneurship, recognizing young talents who manage their studies while pursuing their business dreams. The ceremony was attended by notable figures, including Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed, Adviser to the Ministry of Finance.
Soumik’s achievement reflects the dedication and creativity fostered at Brac University. His success story serves as an inspiration for students across the country, proving that determination and innovation can lead to remarkable achievements.
