Combined examination of public and private Universities on discussion

Piecework The Economic Reform Taskforce of the Interim Government has recommended to have a uniform entrance examination for both public and private universities. The commission also forecasted how this exam would be conducted in brief outline.

The above was noted in the Economic Reform Taskforce report handed over to Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus on January 30. The report emphasized recommending a single entrance test for all public and private universities. The exam will have a format based on accepted international tests such as the SAT and GRE.

The report also suggested that any sort of student politics should be totally banned on all campuses and, thus, off the campuses of all public and private universities. The Taskforce stressed further that the strengthening of primary, secondary, and higher education is required for sustainable development in Bangladesh. To this end, any possible hurdles to the education system, including its quality, infrastructure, and equity would require a concerted effort involving government, private sector, and NGOs.
