For the first time, gold prices are prepared to hit around Tk 150,000 per bhori; they try to make the metal more expensive for customers.
The Bangladeshi Jewelers’ Association (BAJUS) chose to increase the price of gold to Tk 12,844 per gram from tomorrow (11 February), up by 1.34 percent from nearly a week ago’s Tk 12,673, according to the rise in the price of pure gold in the local market.
Derived from a press launch from Bajus, a buyer will have to pay per bhori, or 11.664 grams, Tk 149,812, which will be followed from tomorrow (11 February). Each bhori of 22-carat was Tk 147,806 in advance.
Bangladesh is remarkably dependent upon foreign sources for the price of gold. The price has been increasing for more than a year, which is affected by boosts in the international market and also in the local market.
For the first time in Bangladesh, the price of gold crossed Tk 1,000,000 in July 2023.
By smuggling the country, assert between 20 and 40 tons of metal and mostly fulfill 80 percent of necessary.
