Officers from Baraigram Upazila Natore arrested the passenger bus driver and supervisor and helper after a robbery incident included the sexual assault of two female travelers. Police detained the suspects together with the seized bus at 2 PM Tuesday from Thana Mor besides arresting them.
A robbery took place during the early hours of Monday while Unique Road Royals (Mymensingh B 11-0061) bus number moving through the Mirzapur region of Tangail district. Mirzapur police submitted a report to Baraigram police which led officers to stop the bus and detain its driver Bablu Ali (30) supervisor Sumon Islam (33) and helper Mahbub Alam (28). Bablu resides in the Shahmukhdum College part of Boalia Thana within Rajshahi whereas Sumon originates from Sadhu Mor village and Mahbub comes from Purbo Kathalia village.
Majnu Akand noted that the bus left from Gabtoli Bus Stand in Dhaka at 11 PM on Monday night to continue its journey to Rajshahi. The vehicle was overtaken by eight armed robbers who supplied themselves with knives alongside daggers and pistols right after the departure began. The gang of eight attackers stole money and gold jewelry together with other valuable items as they attacked two female persons in Tangail’s Mirzapur Thana.
The victimized passengers notified Mirzapur police about the crime but the police failed to pursue any action. At Baraigram Thana Mor four passengers found the opportunity to stop the bus and alert police authorities who then captured three robbery suspects amidst the stolen vehicle. Passenger Omar Ali accused the driver supervisor along with the helper of working hand in hand with the robbers at the scene.

They shouldn’t get any mercy. Hang till death is the only punishment for this sort of animals. And that should be within immediate effect.
