Trump said a Bangladeshi company with just 2 people received $29 million from USAID

President Donald Trump of the United States has claimed that a company that no one had ever heard of received $29 million from USAID for improving Bangladesh’s political environment. They received $29 million. They were given a check. What if you had a little business and received $10,000 here and $10,000 there? After that, the US government gives them $29 million. “They had two employees in that company,” he stated yesterday, February 21. “I believe that two persons are really happy. They have a lot of wealth. Because they are excellent scammers, they will soon be featured on the cover of a reputable business journal,” Trump stated in his speech.

The US president said such things at the White House in Washington, DC speaking to the Governors Working Session. “$21 million going to my friend Prime Minister Narendra Modi and India for voter turnout” was another statement Trump made during his speech. He also stated that “We are contributing $21 million to increase Indian voting turnout. How about us? “I also want people to vote.” The names of 11 nations and exact names of some of the US funded abroad projects that had been canceled were listed on X on February 16 by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) the US president’s cost cutting staff. A $29 million initiative promoting “voter turnout” in India and another for “strengthening political landscape” in Bangladesh were on the list. According to the post from DOGE “US taxpayer dollars were going to be spent on the following items, all of which have been cancelled.” Democracy International website said the Strengthening Political Landscape in Bangladesh program (SPL) which is supported by DFID and USAID aims to decrease political violence while enhancing political party capability and linkages with constituents. It states that the project lasted from 2017 until 2024.
