A man named Md Iqbal (40) was brutally stabbed to death due to an old conflict that happened on Tuesday (February 25) around 11:30 PM, in front of his house in the Bibir Bagicha area of Jatrabari, Dhaka. Another man, Md Zahid Hasan Raju (30), was also injured. Both were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in serious condition. At 11:30 PM, doctors declared Md Iqbal dead.
Iqbal’s wife, Kulsum Akter stated that they are from Narayanpasha village in Bauphal Upazila, Patuakhali. Now, they live in a rented house near Chapra Mosque in Jatrabari. She added that before marriage, her husband was involved in crimes like snatching, gambling, and drug abuse. But he had changed and started working as an auto-rickshaw driver. On Tuesday night, an old acquaintance named Ujjal called her husband outside. Soon after, Ujjal and some others stabbed him in front of their house. Hearing his screams, she ran out and saw her husband covered in blood. They rushed him to the hospital but doctors said he was already dead.
Md. Faruk, a police officer at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, informed that the man was brought in by his family but doctors declared him dead. His body had multiple stab wounds. The body has been sent for an autopsy and Authorities are investigating the incident.
