France Bans Ramadan Fasting for Football players

The French Football Federation (FFF) banned Muslim players from fasting while they are in training with the national squad.

Once again France has defined them as the center of a religious freedom debate after banning Muslim players. The French Football Federation (FFF) decided that players can’t follow their religious practices during professional matches. This decision has created criticism from Muslim athletes, human rights organizations, and sports. The FFF announced in a report and told that players can’t fast at the Clairefontaine training camp. After finishing the international match, only then can they make up their missed fasting days. Canadian sports journalist Shireen Ahmed said on X that firstly, France bans hijabs for women, and now they ban fasting for players during Ramadan. They regularly continue to be champions of anti-Muslim behavior. It’s not the first time France has long enforced laws, which include not only football but also public spaces. Before time, French authorities restricted religious practice in sports.
