Stock Market Capitalization Increases by 2,349 Crore Taka in a Week

The market capitalization of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) has grown by 2,349 crore taka over the past week. The stock market experienced a positive trend with business activity reflecting overall stability. By the end of the week DSE’s market capitalization stood at 6,73,866 crore taka and marking a 0.35% increase from the previous week’s 6,71,517 crore taka.

DSE’s key index DSEX is rise by 17.46 points (0.34%). While the DSE-30 index gained 26.81 points (1.42%), and the DSES index increased by 10.09 points (0.87%).

Despite the increase in indices total weekly turnover at DSE stood at 1,627.11 crore taka. It’s compared to 2,384.34 crore taka in the previous week. The average daily turnover was 406.77 crore taka down from 476.86 crore taka the previous week, reflecting a moderate decrease of 14.70%.

Throughout the week, 396 companies and mutual fund units were traded at DSE. Among them, 193 companies saw an increase in share prices, 161 companies experienced a decline, and 42 companies remained unchanged.

CSE Market Performance

In the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), the CASPI index declined slightly by 0.12% to 14,541.35 points, while the CSCX index fell by 0.08% to 8,842.96 points.

However, the CSE-50 index rosen by 0.38%, reaching 1,113.41 points. While the CSI index gained 0.10%, reaching 942.17 points. The CSE-30 index showed notable growth of 0.81%, reaching 12,027.98 points.

Trading activity in CSE saw a significant boost with total turnover reaching 50.80 crore taka an increase from 28 crore taka in the previous week.

At CSE, 282 companies and mutual fund units were traded during the week. Among them, 100 companies saw price appreciation, 159 companies recorded a decline, and 23 companies remained unchanged.

Market Outlook

Market officials suggest that restoring investor confidence and increasing liquidity will be essential in maintaining a stable growth trajectory. With sustained efforts, the market is expected to see further improvements in trading activity and long-term stability.
