Joining hands with the Gazans, Bangladeshi students are taking a stand in the global protest on April 7, demanding a stop to the ongoing bloodshed and human suffering in the war-torn territory. The protest is a global momentum by human rights activists as well as young people demanding justice, peace, and immediate foreign intervention.
Student groups from top-ranked universities, colleges, and schools in Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi, and other major cities in the country declared that they are joining the strike. There would be protest demonstrations, human chains, and peaceful marches across university and college campuses, city squares, as the new generation proclaims their call for a ceasefire in Gaza at once, along with the protection of innocent lives.

The Bangladeshi protest is complemented by demonstrations in major cities across the globe, from Kuala Lumpur to London, from New York, where civil society groups, among students, are protesting against what they term the international community’s failures in rescuing Palestinian civilians.

Joining the global outcry, Bangladesh itself is demonstrating solidarity, but more importantly, reminding the world of the fact that the young people are not intimidated from speaking truth to power.
