Meta and Israel are also claimed to be collaborating on censoring criticism of Tel Aviv online and silencing pro-Palestine content. According to a report compiled by Drop Site News, Meta is said to be under the control of the Israeli government, by whom they dictate the narrative of their activities in Gaza.
Meta acted on 94% of Israel’s removal requests on both Instagram and Facebook on October 7, 2023, the overwhelming majority of which used the same wordings, no matter what content the said post contained.

Unlike other governments that focus primarily on the postings of their countrymen, the takedown demands of Israel concentrate primarily on Arab and Muslim users around the globe.
Meta typically employs human moderators for review when governments report content, but made an exception with Israel using artificial intelligence to remove posts. Deletion of the Palestinian posts was said to have ceased with an audit that concluded that there was no violation of Meta’s policies.

Meta has long faced criticism on social media for censoring pro-Palestinian voices, and some have even had their accounts shut down for merely highlighting alleged Israeli atrocities.
