IUB leads the way with the country’s first dedicated hub for astronomy and space research

Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) has established the country’s first academic center dedicated solely to space science, marking a new chapter in higher education and research. Named the Center for Astrophysics and Space Science Advancement (CASSA), the initiative reflects IUB’s growing focus on scientific innovation and global collaboration.

Launched through an official signing ceremony, CASSA aims to promote education and research in astronomy, astrophysics, and space-related sciences. It will serve as a platform for students, faculty, and researchers to engage in academic study and practical exploration in these emerging fields. The center also intends to foster partnerships with international institutions, encouraging collaborative research and opening doors to new learning opportunities for Bangladeshi scholars.
