At Bagharpara in Jashore, a tragic event took place when a 12-year-old student, Hossain, hanged himself in his own home on Wednesday, May 7.
He was a class V student at Narikelbaria Government Primary School and son of Narikelbaria Mithu Mia under Sardarpara. Family members and the police stated that the incident occurred after scolding by the elder brother, Sazin Al Mamun, for failing to study. Angry at being rebuked, Hossain had hung himself from a beam using a towel at their residence. It was the middle brother Shahin who spotted him and notified other people.

His family members took him immediately to the Bagharpara Health Complex, where he was pronounced dead. They buried him later in the afternoon. The police verified the incident as a sui*cide and handed over the body to the family since no complaints had been lodged.
