This year, the Hajj sermon (Khutbah) will be translated into 20 different languages, including Bangla. The translated versions will be broadcast live along with the original Arabic sermon.
Scholars from Bangladesh will translate the Khutbah into Bangla
Four academics from Bangladesh will translate it into Bangla:
- Dr. Khalilur Rahman
- A F M Wahidur Rahman
- Mubinur Rahman
- Najmus Saqib
All of them studied at the Umm Al-Qura University in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
Hajj Ceremony Begins on June 4
The official Hajj rituals will begin on June 4, 2025. The most important day, known as the Day of Arafah, will be observed on June 5 (9th Zill-Hajjah). On that day, millions of pilgrims will gather at the plains of Arafat.

Khutbah by Imam of Masjid al-Haram
The Hajj Khutbah will be delivered by Sheikh Dr. Saleh bin Humaid, the Imam and Khateeb of Masjid al-Haram in Makkah. He will give the sermon from Masjid Namirah, and it will be heard by pilgrims from all over the world.
Khutbah Translations to Spread Peaceful Message of Islam
The aim of translating the sermon into multiple languages is to share the peaceful message of Islam with people around the world. The translation project is supervised by the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques in Makkah and Madinah.
How the Translation Project Started
The translation project for the Hajj khutbah began in 2018 (1439 Hijri) under the special direction of King Salman bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia.
- At first, the sermon was translated into only five languages.
- Over time, the number of languages increased.
When Bangla Was First Included
The Bangla language was added to the translation project in 2020.
- That year, the khutbah was translated into 10 languages, including Bangla.
- In 2021, the Khutbah was also translated into 10 languages again.
- Weekly Friday Khutbah (Jumu’ah Khutbahs) also began to be translated into various languages.
Growth of the Project Over the Years
- In 2022, the Hajj khutbah was translated into 14 languages.
- In 2023, it increased to 20 languages.
- In 2024, the translation was done in more than 20 languages.
The translation project has also expanded to include the sermons from Masjid al-Nabawi in Madinah.
Not Just for Arafah Day
The translation is not limited to the Hajj khutbah only. It also includes:
- Weekly Friday Khutbahs
- Eid khutbah (Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha)
- Rain prayer Khutbah (Salat al-Istisqa)
- Solar and lunar eclipse prayer khutbah (Salat al-Kusuf and Khusuf)
- Other important religious talks and events related to Hajj and Umrah
New Languages Are Being Added Every Year
To reach as many people as possible, new languages are added to the translation program every year. This is helping Muslims across the globe understand the religious messages better and stay spiritually connected.
