Reasons for the Planned Protest
Before this, on June 3rd, several Facebook pages and groups with names like ‘HSC 25 Batch’ announced the protest. They said that because of the ongoing problems like natural disasters and political issues, students’ studies have been affected. That’s why they wanted to protest for a few things, including postponing the exams.
Organizer Says They Are Still Preparing
When someone on the ground contacted an organizer about the protest not happening, the organizer said,
“We are getting ready; you will see us in action soon.”
What the Students Are Demanding
The students have three main demands:
- Postpone the exams by two months: They say that the current disasters and political problems have especially hurt students in rural areas. They need more time to prepare.
- Keep the same rules as previous batches: They want the exams to be held with pass marks in both the MCQ (multiple-choice questions) and written parts, just like before.
- Special arrangements for those who fail: They want a chance for a supplementary exam (re-exam) and the opportunity to get grace marks if they don’t pass.
