Former Chief Minister of Gujarat, Vijay Rupani, was reportedly on board the Air India flight that crashed near Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad, India. According to the passenger manifest, “Vijay Ramaniklal Rupani” was listed as the 12th passenger. The report was published by India Today. The tragic incident occurred on Thursday (June 12), just five minutes after the aircraft had taken off en route to London.

According to the report, a tense atmosphere has gripped the area outside Vijay Rupani’s residence in Rajkot. Worried neighbors have begun gathering outside his home, many with tearful eyes and anxious expressions.

The crashed flight was carrying a total of 242 people on board, including 230 passengers and 12 crew members. As of now, authorities have not released any information regarding casualties or injuries. Notably, Vijay Rupani served as the 16th Chief Minister of Gujarat from August 2016 to September 2021.
