Pezeshkian Declares: Iran Has No Intention of Developing Nuclear Weapons

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has stated that the country has no intention of developing nuclear weapons. He remarked, “When a brave martyr falls, hundreds of new heroes rise to carry the flag. They will stand against injustice, resist crime, and confront treachery.”

President Pezeshkian made these comments during a speech in Parliament on Monday, June 16, according to Reuters. He emphasized, “We do not want nuclear weapons. We have no such objective.”

However, Pezeshkian also made it clear that Iran will continue its uranium enrichment efforts, stating that the country has the right to use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.

“We will persist in enriching uranium for energy production and scientific needs,” he said. “Benefiting from nuclear energy is our right.”
