“A Revolution Is Needed” — Meghla Urges Prayer Spaces for Women Across Bangladesh

Prayer Spaces

Ayesha Siddika Meghla, Joint General Secretary of Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University Students’ Union (JAKSU), has called for a social and religious “revolution” to ensure women’s access to prayer spaces across Bangladesh.

In a Facebook post, Meghla wrote:

Translation: “A revolution is needed — a revolution to establish permanent prayer spaces for women in every mosque across Bangladesh.”

She further emphasized that this change should not be limited to mosques only but also extend to workplaces, educational institutions, and public spaces.

Translation: “A revolution is needed in Bangladesh — to create prayer spaces for women in every shopping mall, workplace, and educational institution.”
