Aarong’s largest craft store in Dhanmondi, Dhaka.

A well-known lifestyle brand, Aarong, is preparing to open the largest craft store in the world tomorrow. The flagship shop, which is over 60,000 square feet and spread across eight stories in Dhaka’s Dhanmondi neighborhood, is set to revolutionize Bangladeshi retail, according to Aarong. Aarong stated on its website, “From our modest beginnings in Shukrabad, Dhanmondi, we are thrilled to unveil our most ambitious project yet.” According to the lifestyle brand, the store pays homage to Bangladesh’s artistic legacy.

The Aarong store is scheduled to open in advance of the end of this month’s celebration of Eid ul Fitr, Bangladesh’s biggest religious and retail holiday. The store will have craft installations, such as a four-story Nakshi Kantha and a clay pottery wall, according to the biggest fashion retail company in Bangladesh. The new store, which is a component of the social enterprise of BRAC, the largest non-governmental organization in the world, will replace the Aarong branch in Dhanmondi 2. Which is only 400 meters from the existing location.
