Execution in Front of Thousands
An Afghan man convicted of murdering a man and his pregnant wife was publicly executed under the Taliban’s system of retaliatory punishment. The execution took place at a sports stadium in Ghalan, the capital of Badghis province, according to the Supreme Court’s statement.

The event drew thousands of onlookers and was attended by senior Taliban officials, reports AFP.
Court Approval and Taliban Leader’s Endorsement
The man had been sentenced to death after being found guilty of murder. His conviction and death sentence were reviewed by three different courts, all confirming his guilt.
“সাধারণ ডিম বিক্রি করে আমরা কীভাবে ১৫ লক্ষ কাস্টমার এনেছি—এই বইয়ে আছে তার বাস্তব কাহিনি!”
The Supreme Court said in a statement: “He was sentenced for murdering a man and his pregnant wife.”
The Taliban’s supreme leader, Hibatullah Akhundzada, gave final approval for the execution, which was carried out under Islamic law (Sharia).

Eleventh Public Execution Since 2021
This execution marks the eleventh public execution since the Taliban regained control of Afghanistan in August 2021.
Such executions are part of the group’s continued enforcement of strict Islamic laws, which include public punishments for crimes like murder, theft, and adultery.
