Air Ticket Prices drops 75% to Saudi & more countries

Air Ticket Prices

Air ticket prices have decreased, according to the Association of Travel Agents of Bangladesh (ATAB). As a result of stringent restrictions and government intervention. According to a press release from the group, airfares to Saudi Arabia are now about 75% less expensive.

According to a statement released by ATAB on Wednesday, March 19, ticket costs have now dropped to between 48,000 and 50,000 BDT as a result of new restrictions and government oversight. For as little as 35,000 BDT, certain airlines are offering tickets for the Dhaka-Dammam and Dhaka-Riyadh routes. In the past, tickets for flights from Dhaka to several Saudi Arabian destinations were quite expensive between December and February. The group booking system caused the rates to soar to 190,000 BDT.

On February 11, the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism released a circular to regulate the skyrocketing ticket costs and establish market discipline. Artificial price increases for tickets to places like Jeddah, Madinah, Dammam and Riyadh have been lessened thanks to this regulation. The passenger’s name, passport information and a photocopy of their passport are now required in order to book tickets under the new rules.

Airlines have been forced to release tickets that were previously banned and increase seat availability in the computerized reservation system as a result. In addition to encouraging airline competition and drastically lowering tickets, this has made it possible for travelers and travel agencies to monitor ticket pricing and seat availability in real time. By taking this action, the artificial seat shortage that was the main cause of the recent spike in ticket prices has been removed.
