Israeli Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir said If someone watches Al Jazeera, report them to the police

Qatar-based television channel Al Jazeera has been banned in Israel for quite some time. Yet, Al Jazeera Arabic and Al Jazeera Mubasher have continued limited operations in the country. Now, Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has expressed fresh outrage toward the entire it’s network.

Speaking briefly to reporters on Thursday, Israel’s far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir reiterated his stance, saying that allowing this channel to report from Israel would pose a “threat” to national security.

He further claimed that if anyone in Israel is found watching  this channel’s broadcasts, the police should take action against them.

Earlier, in May 2024, Israel effectively imposed a ban on all  Jazeera journalists in the country  including reporters, producers, and cameramen. Prior to that, in January 2024, the Palestinian Authority also issued a restriction on this, which effectively shut down its operations in the West Bank.
