Allu Arjun Sent to 14-Day Custody Over Crowd Rush Death

In Hyderabad, India, Telugu actor Allu Arjun has been remanded to 14 days of judicial custody by the court following the death of a woman in a stampede outside a cinema hall. On Friday, the actor was arrested from his residence in Jubilee Hills in the presence of his family members.

It was reported that on December 4, the premiere of Allu Arjun’s movie Pushpa 2 was held at a cinema hall in Hyderabad. When the actor arrived at the venue, chaos erupted among fans and attendees, leading to a stampede. The main gate of the cinema hall collapsed under the pressure of the crowd. A woman named Revathi died in the incident, while her son, Sritej, remains hospitalized in critical condition. The Times of India reported allegations that neither the actor’s team nor the cinema hall authorities provided adequate information to the police. Consequently, sufficient police personnel were not arranged beforehand to control the crowd at the venue.
