On the way back from Lohagara, Chattogram, a private car in the convoy of Hassnat Abdullah and Sarjess Alam, the leaders of the anti-discrimination student movement, met with an accident. They were returning after attending the funeral of lawyer Saiful Islam Alif.
The incident happened at the crossroads of Hajir Road and the Chattogram-Cox’s Bazar highway in Chunti Union on Wednesday evening, November 27. The event did not result in any recorded casualties. According to Officer-in-Charge Arifur Rahman of Lohagara Police Station, the private vehicle was struck by a truck while it was turning around a curve on the road. The vehicle’s front end sustained damage. Maybe the incident was a sabotage or an accident is being looked into.
