There will not be any ground for Awami League: Mahfuj Alam

Awami League

Information and Broadcasting Adviser Mahfuj Alam on Friday labeled Awami League as a foreign nation’s “transplanted force” rather than an indigenous political force.

Awami League is a Foreign-Controlled Party

Responding to an iftar party hosted by ‘Nofel Society’ at the capital on the occasion of the July uprising martyrs’, Mahfuj accused Awami League of acting at the behest of foreigners. Local force is not Awami League but a force planted somewhere else. Strings are at Delhi, and here in Bangladesh, a kite is flown. The kite will not fly in Bangladesh anymore, he asserted.

Awami League Acts Against Public Interest

The adviser accused the Awami League of doing whatever they do as and when they find an opportunity against ordinary people. Wherever the Awami League will find scope, they will definitely do anything against the common people of this nation, he accused.

Victory against ‘Awami Fascism’ Must Be Protected

Mahfuj Alam told us that the country has triumphed over what he called “Awami fascism” through a politically consolidated movement. We have conquered Awami fascism. We cannot forget this; after obtaining this win, if politically, if we don’t stay united and move ahead with the movement, Awami League will come back again, he warned.

General elections will, however, be hold as scheduled

Speaking at a news conference on Wednesday regarding elections, parliamentarian Mahfuj Alam reaffirmed once again that elections would indeed be on schedule. There will be a routine general election every December. All, I request you, make preparations for elections. The elections will take place as per schedule,” quoted Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus as stating.

State agencies Must Ensure a Free and Fair Election

Mahfuj Alam emphasized that if state organs function normally, there is sabotage, and political parties act responsibly, the elections can be conducted normally. It will mature this year toward the end, in December. It will mature at a specific point, and at that point, it will occur. All should prepare for that. He stressed the importance of all to cooperate for a free and prompt electoral process.
