In Munshiganj, a 25 year old ice cream vendor attempts to rape a six-year-old girl by luring her with ice cream. He promised to give her ice cream and took her to mango orchard and attempted to rape her. When she screamed, he suffocated her to death and hid her body under leaves near a pond. The body was found on thursday morning, following Sabbir’s confession during police interrogation.
The victim went to a temporary market with her cousin but chose to stay behind. Later, she was left in the care of her older brother, but after some time she vanished. Victim’s parents filed a kidnapping report as she was missing since tuesday night. The family later learned that she was last seen with Sabbir. When questioned, his responses were suspicious, leading to an angry confrontation by locals. As a result, police arrested Sabbir.
Authorities have ordered an autopsy to determine whether she was sexually assaulted. Outraged by the crime, the victim’s uncle demanded the severe punishment. An enraged community stormed Sabbir’s house, attacking it and setting it on fire.
