Google is adding a new and innovative feature called ‘Audio Overview’ to make its search service more advanced and user-friendly. With this artificial intelligence (AI)-based feature, users can now listen to the summary of various search results on Google through audio, which is especially helpful for getting information while moving or without eye focus.
Experimental activities have begun
The technology is currently being tested for select users in the US. Google says the “Audio Overview” feature will review a user’s search and create a 30 to 45 second audio summary. It’s like a short podcast that can be easily listened to.

This audio summary will feature an artificial intelligence-powered presentation in a human-like voice. Google says the voice will speak in a natural, human-like manner, making the information easier to digest and understand.
Easy to interface and control
The user interface of the ‘Audio Overview’ feature has been kept very simple and user-friendly. It includes:
•Play and pause buttons
•Volume control options
•Quick mute facility
•Audio speed control facility, so that the user can reduce or increase the speed as desired
In addition to the audio, users will see links to relevant websites on the device screen, which will allow them to read or verify detailed information.
Google believes that ‘Audio Overview’ will make the search experience easier, more effective. It is a timely addition, especially in busy lives where users want to get information without having to keep their eyes open.
