Mohammad Hizbullah, the Member Secretary of UP Bangladesh, wrote a Facebook post expressing strong criticism of the National Citizens’ Party (NCP). He said that the political behaviour shown by NCP leaders reflects the same characteristics once displayed by the Awami League.
“Awami League Has Already Returned Under the Name of NCP”
In his post, Mohammad Hizbullah wrote,
“আব্দুল কাদেরের স্ট্যাটাস বিচ্ছিন্ন কোন ঘটনা না৷ এইটা এনসিপি-র সকল নেতাকর্মীদের দলীয় অবস্থান। তা সেই নেতা শিবিরের সাবেক সদস্য হোক, কিংবা জামায়াতের রানিং রুকন হোন না কেন৷ অনেকেই আওয়ামী লীগ ফিরে আসার আশংকা করছেন৷ কিন্তু তারা যেইটা দেখছেন না, সেটি হলো আওয়ামী লীগ অলরেডি ফিরে এসেছে এনসিপি নামে৷”
Translation: “Abdul Kader’s post is not an isolated case. This reflects the political position of all NCP leaders and activists — whether they were once members of Shibir or current members of Jamaat. Many people fear the return of Awami League, but what they fail to see is that Awami League has already returned under the name of NCP.”

“They Are Acting Holier Than the Awami League Itself”
Mohammad Hizbullah also claimed that NCP leaders are now portraying themselves as even greater freedom fighters than those from the Awami League.
“এরা প্রত্যেকেই আওয়ামী লীগের থেকে বড় মুক্তিযোদ্ধা হিসেবে আবির্ভূত হবে, হোলিয়ার দ্যান পোপ।”
Translation: “Each of them will now appear as a greater freedom fighter than the Awami League — holier than the Pope.”
“NCP Following Awami League’s Old Tactics”
He further alleged that the NCP is repeating the same political tricks once used by the Awami League, including deals and emotional slogans.
“এমনকি ‘২৪ কেও এরা ডিল করেছে আওয়ামী লীগ যেভাবে ‘৭১ কে ডিল করে সেই তরিকায়।”
Translation: “Even in 2024, they made deals just the way Awami League did in 1971.”

He added that NCP reacts to criticism in the same way Awami League once did:
“বিএনপির সালাহউদ্দীন এনসিপি-র সমালোচনা করলে জবাবে তারা বলে, ছাত্রজনতার সমালোচনা করা হচ্ছে৷ কোন চাঁদাবাজকে পুলিশ গ্রেফতার করলে তারা বলে, জুলাইযোদ্ধাকে গ্রেফতার করা হয়েছে৷”
Translation: “When BNP’s Salahuddin criticizes NCP, they respond by saying he is criticizing the student movement. When the police arrest any extortionist, they claim that a July fighter has been arrested.”

“The New Awami Politics Must Be Stopped”
Concluding his post, Mohammad Hizbullah compared the NCP’s behavior to how the Awami League used to defend its accused members, warning that this new form of politics should not be allowed to grow. He wrote,
“নতুন এই আওয়ামীপনাকে রুখে দিতে হবে৷”
Translation: “This new form of Awami politics must be stopped.”
