Sarjis Alam, the chief organizer of the Northern region of the National Citizens Party (NCP), has stated that anyone who was involved with the Awami League or Chhatra League before the 2024 mass uprising cannot join the NCP. He added that the party’s doors are open to good people from other parties.
He made these remarks on Friday (October 24) evening at the Abu Said Convention Hall in Paribagh, during the coordination meeting of NCP’s Dhaka Metropolitan North and South units.
Sarjis said that if anyone joins the NCP with the intention of fulfilling personal goals, this party is not for them, they should return to their previous place.

The party will operate according to its ideals. Addressing party members, he further emphasized that no one should try to advance themselves by dragging others along.

Within the NCP, it has been observed that some attempt to accuse others to gain advantage. He called for members to move away from such practices.
Regarding the future of the party, Sarjis said that if the NCP can carry forward its aspirations from July, then in two years Bangladesh will see it as the most credible political party.
