Bangladesh Bank to Release New Tk 100 Note on August 12

After introducing new Tk 1000, Tk 50, and Tk 20 notes without the image of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Bangladesh Bank is now set to release a new Tk 100 note. Starting Tuesday, August 12, the new note, signed by Governor Ahsan H. Mansur, will be available first from the Motijheel office and later from other offices across the country. This initiative is part of the bank’s plan to issue new designs featuring Bangladesh’s historic and archaeological landmarks.

Bangladesh Bank has announced that it will bring a fresh Tk 100 note into circulation from Tuesday, August 12, as part of its ongoing plan to issue banknotes with new designs. This follows the recent introduction of Tk 1000, Tk 50, and Tk 20 notes all without the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

According to a press release signed by Nurunnahar, Director of the Communications and Publications Department, the new banknotes will showcase Bangladesh’s historic and archaeological landmarks. The Tk 100 note, signed by the current Governor Ahsan H. Mansur, will be the latest in this updated series.

Initially, the new Tk 100 notes will be issued from Bangladesh Bank’s Motijheel office. Soon after, they will be distributed through other offices nationwide, allowing the public to start using them in everyday transactions.
