Bangladesh Beat Sri Lanka

Bangladesh bounced back in style to level the ODI series, defeating Sri Lanka by 16 runs in the second match in Colombo. After a batting collapse in the first ODI cost them the game, the Tigers turned the tables despite another mid-innings stumble.

Batting first, Bangladesh were bowled out for 248 in 45.5 overs. Opener Parvez Hossain Emon top-scored with a well-made 67, while Towhid Hridoy contributed 51 runs.

In reply, Sri Lanka started confidently but lost momentum in the middle overs. Kusal Mendis hit a blistering 56 off 31 balls, supported by Nishan Madushka with 17. However, Bangladesh’s spinners triggered a dramatic collapse.

Tanvir Islam emerged as the hero, claiming his first ODI five-wicket haul, finishing with figures of 5 for 39. Tanzim Hasan Sakib grabbed 2 wickets, with Mustafizur Rahman and Shamim taking one each.

Despite Janith Liyanage’s fighting 78 off 85 balls, Sri Lanka were all out for 232 in 48.5 overs. They failed to find a solid partnership late in the innings, allowing Bangladesh to seal a crucial win and level the series 1-1.
