Bangladesh Receives 52,500 Tons of Wheat from Ukraine under Interim Government

This shipment of 52,500 tons of wheat marks a significant development in Bangladesh’s efforts to secure food supplies amidst a fluctuating global grain market. The consignment, which arrived on December 12 aboard the vessel MV Enjoy Prosperity, is part of a deal with Singapore’s Agrocorp International.

Of the total shipment, 31,500 metric tons will be offloaded at Chattogram, while the remaining wheat will be transported to Mongla Port. This delivery is notable as the first foreign grain consignment received under Bangladesh’s interim government, highlighting the country’s active measures to stabilize food reserves and ensure steady imports during a challenging global trade environment.

This import may also serve as a strategic response to global food security concerns and rising demand, ensuring the availability of essential commodities for Bangladesh’s population.
