In August 2025, Bangladesh received $2.42 billion in remittance, marking an almost 9% growth compared to the same month last year. The country also recorded strong inflows in the first two months of the fiscal year.
August Remittance Figures
According to Bangladesh Bank, in August 2025, the country received $2.42 billion (242 crore 20 lakh dollars) in remittance. This means, on average, around $78.1 million came into the country every single day.
Year-on-Year Growth
When compared to the same month last year, the inflow of remittance has increased by 8.90%. In August 2024, Bangladesh received $2.22 billion (222 crore 40 lakh dollars), which was significantly lower than this year’s inflow.

Highest Single-Day Remittance in August
On 31 August alone, Bangladeshi expatriates sent $193 million (19 crore 30 lakh dollars), showing the strong contribution of overseas workers even in a single day.
July–August Performance
During the first two months of the ongoing fiscal year (July–August 2025), the country received a total of $4.90 billion in remittance. Compared to the same period last year, this is an increase of 18.40%, reflecting a steady rise in remittance inflow.
Record Remittance in 2024–25 Fiscal Year
It is also important to note that in the 2024–25 fiscal year, Bangladeshi expatriates sent a record $30.32 billion (3,032 crore 80 lakh dollars). This was the highest-ever remittance inflow in the history of Bangladesh for any single fiscal year.
